Folks traveling in winter, beware!!! I was driving up Rte. 15 in PA near the NY border in my wife's Honda and the rocksalt coming out of the trucks is so large that it put over 1000 paint chips in the finish of our new car. It literally peppered the finish with chips down to the primer and metal. My shotgun with bird-shot would have done less damage...I will be attempting to sue the state of PA for damages.

That's why you don't tailgate the salt trucks... Good luck with the suit...you're gonna need it.

 

Didn't tailgate, thanks very much. Couldn't stay behind, they were doing 45 in a 65 so I tried to pass quickly. BUT the truck has the sprayer in the Driver's side so you can't avoid getting peppered. In NY they mount the salt sprayer in the center.
