Bob got broken into!
How small of a theft would constitute such a response, say a cookie, or a little time at work, or are you specifically speaking of auto theft?
You did say "ALL".
Really sorry to hear about your misfortune Mike. Thank heavens no damage was done to the HHR. I'd definitely be looking into a better alarm system for Bob...it might even help lower your insurance rates a bit too.
Wait a minute, I think I may have stolen my brothers cookies once or twice.
Damnit! I just signed my own death warrant!
And yes, those scratches are all the way to metal. I've also found a few slices in the paint. At least one on each bumper.
This is probably gonna be major to have fixed because of the paint. Otherwise it would be a simple fix.
Wow...that really sucks Mike. What I don't understand is why the alarm didn't go off when this happened. Plus...how did they get the rear hatch open without the keys in the ignition? I know when I accidently closed the lift gate when the battery cable was off, I had to climb thru the car to hook it back up before I could open it. Now that...my friend was definitely a sight to behold.
This is definitely getting more interesting as things unfold.

I just did some testing and the alarm only goes off for a very short time and then it shuts off on its own. And we all know that when most hear an alarm go off it is usually ignored. Especially if it turns off shortly.
I've talked to my insurance guys about alarms, and according to State Farm, unless there is a fuel shut off or a tracking system, there is no discount. Mainly for the reason I mentioned above, people tend to ignore alarms.
