That was the main reason I wanted to do the Carfax, to see where it was registered during its life.

Also, I will be buying a car for around $3K, so it will be a relatively low-cost car. I don't want to go farther than a day's drive away from Buffalo.

I might go to NC and check out the cars, keeping in mind the warning posted above about flood cars, title wash, etc.

While I'm not in Charlotte, I'm towards the center just south of Danville VA by about 25 miles. They don't don't use salt, at least around me, they plow. I just stay home until the roads get cleaned up. We get the snow and rain mix which is worse.
