Deb's Car Totaled - Not HHR
Also track time loss from work with any dealings. They should have to compensate for that also. SInce the car is of course undriveable, you "should" be compensated for a rental. But if you did not actually rent, not sure how that would turn out.
No loss of time for missing work...I'm on unemployment and he is in between jobs. Talked to him about rental and he said it was one or the other and we would have to pay for the rental until they determine liability, which in my mind has already been determined, or they wouldn't have sent him out. But, like he said, he just takes photos and makes a report of what he saw in person. He did admit that when they told him the car was an 84, he figured it was just an old wore out car and was surprised to see what great condition the car was in. He said he could tell the car had been given lots of TLC and was well maintained and he would give us as much as possible to compensate us for our loss.
Funny thing is that I used to work for an American Family agent about 12 years ago and I used to talk to this guy on the phone, so he knows he's not working with somebody who is totally clueless...which is a plus.
