Got some bad news about my Mom tonight...
just wondering
Not to split hairs, but is this supposed to be a recurrence of her breast cancer in the pancreas? That would be rare. The Whipple procedure is usually done to attempt a surgical cure for cancer that started in the pancreas. It would seem more likely that she has two primary cancers. If the breast cancer had spread to the pancreas, it would also have spread everywhere else.
In any event, I wish this works and she does well.

Thank you all for your kinds thoughts and words, Mom is a fighter I've known that all my life, but its hard knowing that she's dealing with cancer again. With God's love and the help of friends like all of you, she'll make it through, she just has to.
I'm going to talk to her oncologist on Monday Doctuh to clarify with him whether he thinks that this is related to the breast cancer through metastasis, or if its a separate and unrelated tumor. I'm thinking it may be related to her kidney tumor back in 2006.
Went out for coffee this morning with Mom and we had a very long talk about how she is doing and the battle ahead. I'm feeling better about her mental state and her usual positive attitude is as strong as ever, but we all realize that we're dealing with something that might not have an outcome that we want. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers, they will be very much need in the days and weeks ahead.
I'm definitely sending good thoughts your way 843de. My best piece(s) of advice are to take everything day by day and step by step; and above all to keep a positive mindset both for yourself and the Mrs. as well as your mom.
