My other "toy/project"

Well I'm pretty much done with my wagon...my coilovers are going on next weekend and the only thing I may do in a year or two is swap out the wheels, but surprisingly I'm pretty happy with the Drag wheels I have on now. Anyways my girlfriends Scion xB has been pretty neglected since she bought it last April. We bought from her uncle that bought it from someone else. It had been lowered, tint, wheels, exhaust and needed some TLC. We dumped some money into the brakes and bearings...bought some new tires...and she's put on several thousand miles.

Fast forward to last weekend...we talk about either getting rid of the xB and getting a new car (which means another payment) or do we fix up the xB so it looks nice since she really does enjoy driving it. We opt for choice two and I've jumped in head first into this project!

Here's how it looked when we got it. It amazes me that people want to have a nice car and fix it up but neglect the small things like the brake calipers and drums.

Here's how it looked last weekend after we got some new wheels. I was able to get these wheels with tires for $230...I sold the tires that were on the wheels for $70 and then turned around and sold the black wheels we had for $180 so I made a little profit and it looks 1000% better!

I've got lots of goodies coming...factory fog lights, new grill emblem, new windshield installing on Tuesday (cracked and that tint strip...yuck!). I polished out the headlights last night with toothpaste and they look great...as close to new as I'll get. Also painted some of the interior with a very cool blue that turned out great as well. The exhaust is getting reworked on Tuesday as well because it just doesn't look right. We were going to get it painted but we're investing the money in a set of coilovers and I'm going to sand the front and rear bumpers this weekend and try something a little different. Anyways this is my girlfriends daily but it's my new project!

No doubt about the toaster...I don't think any xB owner would argue. I have to say, despite the boxey toaster look...these things have a huge following and the amount of aftermarket parts for them makes them very fun to mod! I'm going to keep ours pretty simple...low and clean.

From the pictures the paint doesn't look that bad. I'd say a good buff out, a polyglass system and a preserving wax would do it justice. JMO

Its really not bad...the front and rear bumpers are pretty bad...the rest of the box isn't bad.

Pretty spiffy.

After all these years, I'm starting to like the looks of those little Toasters.
