Nope not an Aston, but you do have the decade right and these were coach built cars with less than 150 ever made.

It is a British car, but not an Austin. Another hint, a different model produced by this company was driven by Maxwell Smart in the opening credits of Get Smart the 60's TV series.

Bingo jx3! Yes its an oddball model aimed at the Italian market, but they didn't aim very well so it will always be an oddity.
