So there is no way to use this without installing that new antenna?.
As for the extended range, am I the only one here that is surprised at the amazing range of the standard remote. I can be inside the mall here and my car parked at the far side of the lot and the remote will still start the car. Same thing at wal mart, I start the car while Im at the register and I always park as far from the rest of the world as possible. Extended range for me would mean I could start my car from home when my wife has it at school 20-25 miles away.

Was offered the upgrade for several hundred dollars... Wasn't worth it IMOP. An employee I managed over had an item like that years ago for his Maxima (aftermarket and the size of a beeper), worked off an FM freq. and had a pretty big display. I had to confiscate it from him-he spent more time playing with it than doing what he was supposed to. It seemed more like a novelty than useful. Yes I did give it back to him just so he would stop crying! I also stopped him from bragging how it would also tell him someone was trying to brake into or steal his car by just saying if he was in a large shopping mall and it started going off, by the time he got to where his car "was" parked he would be too out of breath to call the police.

Let's see. That remote probably weights 4 oz. Not more than $40.00 for shipping
