I'm with you. I don't think the production version varies too much from the concept. The biggest change looks to be the rear of the vehicle.

The biggest is to the rear and it makes a major change in the looks. The rear was a little more original where the prodction could look like many other models on the maket.

They also took the hard lines from the front and made it softer.

Lets just say they changed things that help set this appart in a good way and made it just another family hauler that gets lost in a crowd. They need to keep an edge to their styling as Mazda has a goofy face anymore and Honda styling has always been as vanilla as can be. Honda's as a whole are souless.

A good design makes you feel it as much as see it. It should draw you to it. Much in the way an HHR has drawn many to it based on their preferance for the styling.

No thanks! Something wrong with the author if he thinks this thing looks better than the HHR!

Blends in well with the "Asian appliance" landscape. Not for me. Individuality is one of the reasons I drive an HHR. How could I or many here go for something so vanilla such as this?

It's a clean, simple design that is almost, almost, an evolution of the "early Chevy Suburbans as HHRs" design theme. There's a hint of Equinox in the greenhouse, a little Malibu in the grille, a little late 60's/early 70's Suburban in the wheel arches. The interior is nice, too. Don't get me wrong, I love my HHR, but the Orlando isn't as bad as some would say.

Everything that made the concept stand out, they of course took away. Makes no differance, it's not coming here anyway.

Wonder how much the Granit will change from the concept.

I just worry we are only $5 a gallon gas away from this one coming. It is in Canada and could be brought here very easy.

The Granite I expect will change more in the interior vs outside. The Doors are the greatest issue. They are working to make them like the show vehicle when I find most would be fine with normal doors. I think they should take the safe route here. I see too much weight needed to make the other doors work.

I still scratch my head why they don't bring it here with the HHR going away.

The sucide doors on the Granite is what I really like about it. It's smaller than the HHR, about Soul size. But odds are, that won't make it due to safety concerns. It will be a couple more years before the wife is due a replacement for her MPV and I was reallying thinking of the Orlando. The HHR is good for long weekend trips, but need something bigger for those week long family trips.
