Scratchpad!
And I thought I had it bad with a 27 ft 4 in long fuselage and 36 ft 2 in worth of wings to worry about. All those lovely Longerons, Braces, Spars, Stiffeners, Bulkheads, Gussets, and the rest of the 25,000(or so)components of the Queen seem simple in comparison.
Its just time consuming more than anything, and there are AD's dating back 60 years that still have to be checked off to this day under 14 CFR part 39. Now why that is does make you wonder, if the aircraft complied with the AD's last year, and the 60 years previous, is it still necessary to check and verify compliance after 6 decades?
But ours is not to wonder why or question the mighty FAA, the AD's are there for a reason, and its my butt and those of my passengers on the line....but the expense is increasing exponentially every year.
I do worry about the eventuality of hitting that point where keeping the Queen out of a museum and in the air becomes financially unworkable, on average 30 Cessna 195's are retired every year due to age and economics.
