Yeah, I would be interested if they let you do this, also. Sometimes yes...sometimes no.

Generally, the vehicle is theirs if they make a total payoff. Because that is what they are going to do with an "unrepairable".....part it out and recapture some of their expense.

Thanks Scaleguy, the wife and I are thinking we`ll still go to the run even if the car isnt ready in time (have to drive the hemi i guess) As far as parts i dont know how the ins. would feel, I could ask if they wanna sell anything and if so whom to talk to? as far as exterior parts about the only thing salvagable might be the passenger rear door. The grill nose area from about center of hood forward is scrap metal at best and the rest either got road rashed or is no longer there. I will ask who to contact about parts though and see what they tell me! thanx again everyone!!!!

Luckily I live in smalltown USA. When my sweetie totaled her Tahoe the wrecking yard that was storing it allowed us to come and exchange the three day old new tires we had put on it. I bought some used tires for twenty bucks and got to retain the new ones we had bought. When her new Suburban needed tires this year we already had them waiting....

Thanx again to everyone for the kind words!! Just got back from the dealer and i`ll be damned if they didnt get me a 2lt WITHOUT the running boards!! but in their defence they said it was the only orange one in a 5 state area with the 2lt options without the roof rails (which i did not want) and was only approved for the exact amount by gm for the 0% fin. so i guess i`ll have to get them later!! and they did throw in all 5 of the all season rubber mats for free for me.. They told me the woody kit should be done and I could take delivery in about 4-5 days so I guess the little lady and I will make the peoria run and I am lookin forward to meeting all of you soon!! thanx again !Oldschool

That's great news! Too bad about the running boards though.

Looking forward to meeting you in Peoria.
