Not sure just yet about mine. It will all depend on how badly Uncle Sam screws me this year after being off half of the year on unemployment.

Whatever I get back, I'm throwing it in the savings account.

According to the bookkeeper that I use, if you do everything right you shouldn't owe anything or have anything due back. Usually it works, zero due and zero back. Kinda boring, but when you think about it the rebate is just getting your own money back from overpaying Uncle Sam.

Yeah, but I'd rather overpay when I have the money, and get a refund this time of year when work is slow. Just me...and that's only because I don't have a set schedule, work sucks this time of year. Any extra money, even if it is my own, is nice to get back.

To me it doesn't really matter if I get the extra throughout the year or in a return but like previously stated by Eric some people really look forward to one lump sum. For some people the extra if given in their checks would just quietly disappear without them realizing where it went.

Nothing wrong with the rebates, and I know that having that money come back can be a big help. I guess its being self employed that makes me very diligent about making sure that the government gets what its due, just not one penny more.

I hear you. This year part of my income will come from self employment so I will have to see what the experts say when I go in.

Spent mine already and haven't even filed yet...new AC and furnace this past year. Qualified for a tax credit on them both being that they are "greener" than the 25+ year old junk they replaced. Just hoping to get enough back to pay most of it off. Thank goodness for credit cards!
