Windows Vista
Uninstall IE 7 asap! It has major problems according to our IT guys at work. I acidentally installed it when Dell notified me of an upgrade. I hated it. I don't do online gaming and I have a new laptop so speed was not an issue but just the fact that it changed all my toolbars ticked me off. It wouldn't allow me to change them back.
I've always felt that Microsoft products work best with the Microsoft OS. However, I use audio and video software which came with my MP3 player and digital video and still camera. I'm not switching to Microsoft products just to make Vista work. We all know Microsoft will use other software as a lame excuse for their product not working right. Bill Gates will just have to get richer off of someone else!

I don't have much experience with Macs, so I'll stick with windows for now. I don't have any problems with XP and have no plans on upgrading to vista anytime soon. Perhaps down the road when the bugs are worked out I may consider it.
I am a Mac guy through and through but I have been running Windows Vista Enterprise on my MacBook using both Boot Camp and Parallels. The Aero interface is pretty cool looking but it feels more like a reskin of WinXP than a major upgrade. I am anxiously awaiting the release of Leopard (OS 10.5) - my credit card is poised for the purchase on day one.
Here's some reading that expands on what fastsuv mentioned.

As long as MS reserves the right to delete anything from the PC they deem fit to, it will be a cold day in hell before Vista is installed on our PCs.

Vista will be hacked up just like XP has been. I am staying away from Vista as long as possible. I don't like IE7 (firefox owns), system requirements prove that it's bloated beyond belief almost, DRM is BS. I still believe one day MS will fall from it's mighty position, and I think Vista is a stepping stone in that direction. I have used Linux in the past, but it is not ready for everyday users. Mac is taking the right approach with their products.
I WILL not be getting Vista, from the lack of being able to diagnoses the problems, and the lack of technical things that a user can perform on the system. Everything is hidden for "security reasons." There are no drivers for most of almost everything, and all the bench marks performed using vista are far worst than XP. It's a no go from me. Also vista is a ram and processor hog.
