Are you a car nut?
BDUBSEE -- you really ARE a car knowledge-nut too - sometimes it IS sad that we can't use the strange bundle of data that's in our brains to MAKE a bundle. For example, I have perfect pitch. Even as a musician, it's actually useless. How did you do that HHR MATER?? He's a honey!

Well I'm currently "Bore & stroking" my 1939 Harley Flathead (Old Atlanta, GA.Police Bike.)
It's a fun rider as it has Left Hand Throttle & R. Hand suicide shift.. I've had it long time now, just pumping up the ponies, a good bit more !!!
Never fails to make me laugh when new yup (instant bikers) ask about it.. Guess they didn't realize HD has been around long before it was fashionable (as today) to have a HD.....LOL!!!

DUhhhhhhh - I haven't bored or stroked any flatheads for so long, I bet I forgot how!!! But I am left-handed!!
Okay, enough of that, just be glad I left the pony part alone!!
We have this place near us called Tom's Farm, and it's kind of like a place you'd ALWAYS stop at if it was on Route 66... anyway the bikers all stop there and show off their bikes, have biscuits and gravy... the days I like best are the days the guys are there with their Indian motorcycles - I just get gaa gaa about them for some crazy reason. And of course, they love admirers.

Ahhh cars...
Fell in love with classic muscle cars when I went to a car show near LA when I was 13 or so. The 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28 painted hugger orange with the double white stripe. That cool lookin' 302 with twin 4 barrel carbs sitting under the hood with the 4-speed manual. I started saving my allowance in a tin under my bed - never got past a few hundred bucks. Alas.
I have owned some fun cars though. They would have been WAY cooler had I had the extra jack to throw at them! The higlights - I'll leave out the '79 F-100 that looked like Uncle Jesse's truck - are:
1999 Suzuki GS500 - I know it's not a car, but it was fast!
1984 VW Jetta GLI - damn fast for what it was
1967 Dodge Dart GT 273 V8 - lots of mods
lots of money
So now I'm excited about the HHR. I hope it'll fill that quest to have a "cool" ride and be a practical reliable vehicle that will give my many years of use. Actually, I just wanted a cool car!

Well, kinda like riding a bike....

you like em, how could ya not ???
Yes, I wish I still had that Dart....now that I have the money to spend on it!
My brother was worse off in that department. Got his hands on a 1969 Dart Swinger (340+4speed) that had undergone a total frame-off resto. At least, it had the frame-off part done! The body was back on the frame, but everything else was in pieces. Started to put it back together again and then had to sell it all
That was sad.
I'd still like to get another muscle/sports car one day. The only problem is that, and I admit this is MY fault, my wife has fallen in love with Corvettes. I'm not talkin' 1978 vintage either (which might I might be able to afford!), nope, she wants a 50th Anniversary 'Vette. She likes the colour especially. I guess it could be worse - she might want a Ferrari!
