2007 Chevy HHR LT - Windshield Leak?

Can someone please tell me if the windshields are sealed with a sealant? Mine looks like a crappy gasket sealant job. I think I have leaks in several places. I pulled the cowl and looked at the butyl patch. That's on my list to buy. I previously blew out the drains in the sunroof. One morning during a downpour, I got in my car and all of a sudden a steady stream of water poured down from the edge of the headliner above the steering wheel.

I have put a lot of money in this car since I bought it in January. The last thing I want is to smell mold and mildew.

Thanks...Ronnie

The windshield is installed with a sealant, no gasket. Only a few 2007s have the butyl patch problem.

I looked at the butyl patch and it isn't sitting flat. So I'm assuming it's bad.

If there is one it should seal the hole. That would only leak on the passenger floor.
If the water is coming from under the headliner it could be the drain tube is broken.
That looks like a replacement windshield. If the installer was sloppy it could leak at voids. A hose would test if it is that bad.

Passenger and drivers side floors are both wet. Thats why think I have more than one problem.

Could be the wiring boot between the door and body, check to ensure they are seated . Your A/C drain might be clogged.
the photo you posted shows , someone applied that gasket or sealant indicates there is a windshield leak. However they might not have known where the water was getting in.

This isn’t seated and can allow water into the cabin

run a garden hose on it to find the leak. I fixed mine with windshield sealant.

Here is a look at my butyl patch. Doesn't look good to me. 🤷‍♀️

I have resealed the windshield with silicone. I took the garden hose to the windshield...I feel I gave it a pretty good amount of water.

I sat in the car looking for any signs of water. I didn't see anything coming inside the car.

This is the driver's side before the garden hose test.

This is the driver's side after the garden hose test. Just a bit of water at the bottom.

This is the passenger's side before the garden hose test.

This is the passenger's side after the garden hose test. Everything looks dry on this side.

So I took the garden hose to the sunroof. I had previously blown out the drain hoses.

I heard the water draining to the ground outside the car. But water is definitely coming in the driver's side. Makes me feel the drain tube is broke/cracked. Now I need to figure out how to remove/replace the drain tube. 🤔

It's mostly a 2006 problem. There are pics in this thread, shows the improved design. It's possible a previous owner put that on, it may not be needed.
