cresent wrench is for plumbers & hacks. Using the proper tool will not damage the plastic cap.

I use a 32mm pump wrench from Wright Tools. About 5" long. Just the right size to sneak in and spin the cap off. Best $5.00 I ever spent.

No hating on plumbers, they do use cresent wrenches & pipe wrenches etc..

I have had to do my share of plumbing & have my tools for those jobs.

Just hating on hacks? I just happen to have once been a Taxi Driver, I take offense.

I used to drive a Taxi in college, and I ain't mad at ya sleeper, although the mechanics at the Taxi garage were kinda fond of pipe wrenches come to think of it.

I didn't have the right 32mm socket and god knows with $1000's in tools go figure so went to the advance auto here and they hit me $13.00 for the right one ! I found using a 12 inch extension and a swivel adapter to get around to work perfect .set the filter cap and drain plug at 18 ft lbs but just snuging it up would be fine I got the torgue wrench so why not do it right .And ya the right tools are best BUT IMHO using a HI qualty crecent wrench that you can set and hold the setting would NOT be a hack job its just 2 bolts not rocket science just my 2 cents .But the CR would be a pIta ! Iam all for the right tools thou for the job much easier and better .
