My 10 is starting to show signs of a warped rotor. I know several of you have had to do this. Which brand did you find to be the best? I have read that the OEM is not the best choice. Do I need any special tools? I have a torque wrench.

Don't worry about the year; the procedure is pretty much generic.
Favorite brands are like belly buttons; everyone has one!

 

Also, it is quite unlikely that the rotors are warped. Plenty of posts here on the subject, but it's uneven pad deposits and/or rust that make for pulsing brakes.

I use any rotor I can get (even Chinese), and good pads, and never have had a problem. I also work for an auto company (not GM) in Chassis Warranty analysis, and have seen it all.

I went thru every kind of rotor on all of my vehicles and continued having same problems for years until I started buying NAPA rotors. Problem solved on every vehicle every time for years.

Thanks for the info. My pads are only 9 months old so I will probably reuse them. I am also thinking about painting the calipers while I have them off. Any precautions other then mask them properly.

 

Not a good idea to re use pads. They tend to get the shape of the rotor.

 

Might want to use Napa Rotors and new Napa Pads.

Makes sense to me.

Definitely do a search. This has been a subject on here for years.

I went through stock, another set of OEM, a set of Autozone replacements and had to have them turned 10k later and finally bought Powerstop slotted and Cross Drilled rotors two years ago and have not had an issue in 26 months. However, pad wear seems quicker with these rotors.

The best rotors I ever had were also the cheapest "no name Chinese". They were at 120,000 miles and counting before the car went away.
