Hey, Geg, look what I found! A pair of rear springs I picked up from a Cobalt owner awhile ago. Sold to me as discontinued Moog rear springs, replacements for a Cobalt SS. (But I don't know what year.)
Not that these will matter to you, but what got my attention is how much they look like your new springs. See pic of label for dimensions. The 1/2" (12.7 mm) diameter is quite precise.
Curious, how long are your new springs?
Cobalt SS rear spring are frequently recommended for leveling HHR SS.
Hi guys.
I used your prompt information and installed my springs with tight coils on top. They settled into their regular places as if they were family.

I didn’t record the length of my new springs. Now I’m looking at the sketch project that the manufacturer sent me at the approval stage - it says: “loaded spring height (mm) 235” (I assume that the manufacturer made the calculation because he asked me for information about the total weight of the car). In the American tradition, 235 mm is 9.26 inches. I think the unloaded spring height could be 1.0 - 1.5 cm higher (probably). 235 is longer than the standard length, at the same time I compared the new spring with the old one and their lengths are the same. I don't know how to explain it.
I've been told that the Cobalt and XHR suspension are identical or nearly identical. I'm not surprised that the springs are interchangeable.

Does the new height seem to be higher lower or the same?
Hi guys
I finally took him home
I had to fix the windshield wiper trapezoid - it had become sour, the software was also fixed (there were problems after replacing the transmission).
Well, here's Hippo in the parking lot near the house. I can see his butt is raised slightly, the new springs giving it a perky look.
In addition, I see a lot of defects on the body. A new reason for unplanned expenses. But whatever you can do for your iron friend, he deserves respect for his person.
