You’ll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth/ headlights with Pepsodent!

Got a kick out of that Pepsodent commercial!

Today I don’t think there’d get away with claiming Irium (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) “fights decay,” lol.

I don’t think it much matters what you use to get rid of the “dead” plastic as long as it’s gone and you either leave a glassy smooth polish, or a pretty smooth polish and then some sort of clearcoat. The former will begin breaking down the quickest. I’m just hoping hoping to figure out what easy affordable coating will last 12 years, not 12 months, lol.

I use U-POL universal clear coat you can buy from Ebay. Works well, is relatively cheap, and lasts for years. I did my sister's VW golf's headlights probably 10-12 years ago and they still looked like new. I use 3m's headlight kit and this clear and have had great luck. I use this clear for many things, so I don't mind buying it by the gallon and keep it around.

Thanks! Figured something like this would be the top-shelf solution.

I’m hoping for something in a rattle can though.

Amazon Amazon

2 part spray paint, you push in a thing on the bottom of the can that punctures a separate compartment in the can to release one of the components. Then shake and spray. One time use though.

They have different options so do a little research in to which one you want before ordering. I just linked to a gloss version for reference.

Great! I’ve heard about stuff like that but never tried it. Pretty sure “high build” would not be desirable in this case. I’ll do some research!

I am guessing it just means that it is wet sandable and can be polished.
