If your problem is that the housing is melted such that the new bulb won't go in............ you need to get a new housing.

I was able to get the blub out but it broke coming out. I can't push the new blub into place though

It seems like it yes. But it looks like part of the opening where the blub goes in is melted.

The part that is broken, that is supposed to hold the bulb.
1. bulb holder
2. bulb
3. housing

Just to give you an idea of the parts available and what they're called.

It's in the lamp part. It looks like the blub melted it. I'm hoping I can replace it through the front

No. See post #26. The three nuts hold the bracket.

Fish goes blub. This is a bulb.

So you got into the cargo area, removed the access panel, rotated the bulb holder, removed the bulb/bulb holder assembly from the housing, then removed the bulb from the bulb holder. At some point the bulb broke, and you're not sure if you got all of the old bulb out of the bulb holder. Is all this correct so far?

So is the problem that
1. You cannot get the new bulb into the bulb holder? or
2. You cannot get the new bulb/bulb holder assembly into the housing?
