Is that blurry pic of a Equinox/Traverse? supposed to prove something? The 10th digit of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is the important thing. Pretty easy to just look at your registration or the label on the dash.
SS does not have bumps on the bumper covers.
Where is the boost gauge mounted?

Since all SS’s have window switches in the doors, I bet that “ mood” light hadn’t been eliminated yet on the early 08 SS.
Not sure but GM may have left it unpowered on the SS since it wasn’t needed.
Omnigear. Did yours ever work before ?

I don't know why you just didn't say what the 10th digit of the VIN is the first time someone pointed out that the picture posted didn't match most SS sunroof switches. That would have shortened the discussion by 10 posts.
There are a lot of fake SSs out in the wild. Many people think they paid for an SS and got a LS with SS bumper covers and badges.
According to the wiring diagrams that LED has no power supply attached, the pin is marked "NO Connection".. The reason being it has no use on an SS. 2006-2008 LT and LS it lights the window buttons that are mounted on the bottom of the waterfall in front of the cup holders. It is not a map light.
I was trying to help, sorry for the inconvenience.
