My wife's HHR had a problem closing the sunroof, it got stuck open I was able to get a closed. But the passenger side rear corner was up too high when it was closed. I did some searches and there was a way to adjust the height which I tried, it did come down a bit but I thought there had to be something else wrong.
After further inspection I see on the passenger side there is a piece of plastic that broke off of the mechanism. You will see in the pictures I post. Is there a fix for this or does it have to be replaced? If it needs to be replaced is the parts still available and what would it be called or part number would be helpful. So when the roof is closed from the inside I can push up on the rear corner of the sunroof on the passenger side. On the driver side it doesn't budge so that's the issue that broken piece in the picture. Thanks Scott This is the driver side good bracket Passenger side Sorry about the sun glare but this is the broken bracket. You can see it's out of the grove
Driver side
I looked at that, already thanks. But that's not the problem this is where the back of the sunroof goes up into vent. It's the little arm that pulls the sunroof down when you hit the button to close it. It's not the vent in front or anything to do with that.
I ended up finding used sunroof from an auto recycling yard.
Used the donor vehicle to learn how to do the job.
It took several hours to change out as I did it by myself.
