Rear center brake light 08 SS

So I'm confused as heck. I read all the instructions, looked at videos on youtube and I still can't get that darn plastic cover off. I can easily pop the clips on the ends, but I can't find the other clips and no matter which way I push, pull or prod nothing moves. Is there some secret move I'm missing?

Thanks, Ira

I've had mine off twice. No secret. I just remember you have to pull really hard. Almost to the point of you think it will break.

Just the four clips the inboard two are at each end of the high brake light , the the two outboard, seems you located them.

If I didn't know better, I'd say someone broke a clip once upon a time and glued it on. I can easily pop the end clips, another clip seemed to pop out but went right back in as soon as I relaxed pressure and no matter what I do the cover shows no signs of moving.

Where are all the clips located and once the clips are free does it slide off or just fall off. I thought changing the headlight bulbs was hard, but so far this is being way harder.

I guess I should also ask, does it require tools or should it just pop off?

Mine did the same thing, happens when no one has removed it ever. The clips are too new and hold very well. The outer clips are easy, then slide your hands in an do some quick pulls. Since you have the outer ones off you can also try to slide some needle nose pliers in there and compress the metal parts of the clips, but it is real tight. Good luck.

So I tried again and failed again. Does the cover come off the lamp or does the whole thing come off the window? I bought some nice plastic pry tools to help and still nothing. Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like when it's off so I can see where the clips are. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it's all glued together and impossible to take apart.

I can get my fingers in most of the way to the middle from the top and the bottom and I can not find anything holding it it and yet it won't budge.

Thanks, Ira
