Remove engine air filter cover

Hi, again guys
i was wondering if you have to remove the big plastic cover to get to the oil and air filter? Sounds stupid, but on some cars when you unplug the air mass sensor you get an engine yellow code light after service. Or does that only happen if you start it unplugged. ?

The oil filter isn't under the air box.

x2 what Don says.

About the only reason to need to remove the plastic cover is to change the sparkplugs, or change the air filter.
The engine check light will only come on if the engine is started with the MAF disconnected.

And when reinstalling it - put a dab of silicone grease or white grease on the grommets and the mounting pins. That will make it much easier to re and re it at a later time.
