Thermostat

I just bought a thermostat for my 09 panel, 2.2. The dealer tells me there is no gasket but only an rubber seal attached to the thermostat Can anyone conferm this, don't want to get ir apart and no have all the pieces.

This is absolutely the case. I put a thermostat in my 2008 HHR today and the black gasket is already on it.

X5, it might be hard to believe, but the dealer can be right. And a good dealer will be right most of the time.

I have found that some parts counter people will sell you the gasket and the t-stat, you end up with an extra gasket. That is part of the reason for it costing a bit more in the first place.
I have delivered many, only to return the $4 gasket later.

Moral of the story: look in the box!
