Transmission Service

So, I'm hearing several ways to do this. There is a black plastic cap on top of the tranny under the brake master cylinder. Can I refill the tranny thru this port or not?

That is technically the breather, but it is indeed the filler hole. It comes off by hand.

You still need to check the level through the "level control" hole on the side, no easy dipstick.

I have the FSM, I’ve seen the drawing supplied in post #3 and still can’t find this transmission vent/fill port. I’ve read the descriptions of its location, but…

I’m sure it is simple – I just cannot visualize/find it under the hood. Can someone provide a picture?

It's down behind the thermostat housing hidden under the wires, it is about 1.5-2 inches high. Getting a good pic would be a challenge, once you push the wires around and put your hand down there you'll find it. Hand tighten and loosen only!

Found. Thank You.
~3 inches forward of the thermostat housing and ~2 inches toward the drivers side. Damm those wires.
