They take a credit card and process it right from the State Police vehicle if you wanted to pay it, I feel for you I hate driving in that state and I drive over our border line quite a bit and no they do not like Police Officers from our state, I'm glad for this reason I am employed by the Government and not the State of Illinois.

Wink Pay The Ticket

Stacy,

Pay the ticket by mail, However much the fine is, Plus send them an extra $5.00
(Make sure you send them a check)
Example $100.00 fine
Make check out for $105.00
What happens is that when they cash your check for the fine plus the extra 5 dollars, They send you a refund check for the 5 dollar overpayment,
DO NOT EVER CASH THE REFUND CHECK......(you loose the 5 bucks)
They can never ever close their court record files until they get the refund check back from the their bank, No Refund Check from their bank means they can't put any points on your drivers license, No points means no premium raise, because your Insurance Company never gets contacted...

To avoid speeding tickets, don't speed. I don't know of any reason to be driving 20 mph or more over the speed limit, unless there is a life threatening issue in the car. When you want to play, you gotta pay.

I drove up into Wisconsin this past May and was comfortable at driving at 65-70 with out of state plates, letting the those in a hurry bolw by me. I use a lot of cruise control to keep my speed in check.

I mean if you know the WI state police are out looking for out of state speeders, why speed?

Ahh, some people like paying a TON for insurance, AND gas AND tickets. Let them be. LOL! I mean if you drive at 80 on cruise vs 60 you will save an hour an 15 minutes on a 5 hour drive non stop drive. That is definantly worth a couple hundred dollars in fines. Also youll use about 13.5 gallons of fuel over that 300 miles vs my 8.5. So there is another $20, then add about $15-20 more a month for insurance. Ouch.
