Cruisin' The Coast - July 9-11, 2010 - West Mi. G2G
We gonna get Eric drunk?lol That does sound good though. the hotel we stayed at in Auburn Hills had abar/lounge/restuarant in it, and we went down there for a couple hours after we checked in and had 5 or 6 beers.
Lake Michigan has approximately 88 Lighthouses along her shorelines, more than any of the other Great Lakes. Lake Michigan has sandy shorelines with thousands of acres of sand dunes from the Indiana border to the Straits of Mackinaw.
This schedule is in NO WAY set in stone, but we wanted to throw some ideas out and hopefully get some feedback. As always, weather will be a deciding factor on some activities. We're thinking of day trips to three West Michigan Coast cities: Grand Haven, Saugatuck, and Muskegon -- overnight lodging will be less expensive in the Grand Rapids/Holland areas, as I'm sure the lakeside towns jack their rentals up for the season. (We can provide accommodation information.) I've tried to provide websites and pricing information where available.

Those are both great options (A and B) Just beware that Silver lake is a hike north from Muskegon 1 - 1 1/2 hours and to go to Berlin from there might be a stretch. There is a sand drag strip up at Silver Lake that is a blast, everything from modified 4 wheelers to fully blown funny cars (with paddle wheels) run.
