I tried tracking down the oval lower radiator rubber grommet. Being here in wyoming is tuff to find anything. So, I used a Glad Hand grommet from my trucking supply kit I made for OTR trucking. Almost a perfect fit. Much tighter then factory.

Here is a picture of the modified Radiator Grommet.

That frame rail looks bent to hell....you plan on taking it to a shop to get it straighten out and repaired right?

Bottom frame is perfect. The unibody frame rail up top is twisted in. Going to cut off the twisted part and weld in new 1/4 steel. It's getting real made in Texas steel put in it. The front bumper is getting a 4" sch40 steel pipe. Deer will not be walking away this time!

If your referring to the picture above with the grommet. That's the way it has always looked. Both sides look like that!

Spend the money getting it to a Frame shop and have them check it out and make any needed adjustment Pulls.

I was a Body & Fender Combo man and Auto Painter for 12 years full time.

Trust me, GET IT CHECKED BY A PRO, Before you start buying a bunch of parts. You may need to get a hood (looks like it could be fixed, but if it were me, I'd get one) and fenders and bumper cover so they can Align them up once pulled.
You can get those if they want them after they at least put it of the frame rack and take some measurements.

Check out CertiFit for some really GOOD prices on the body parts. Download the parts catalog and see.

Your welcome.
Please at the very least have a shop with a frame rack check the car out before you go putting all kinds of work/money into it only to find the car "dogtracks" and just ends up wearing out tires and suspension parts real quick because the unibody is bent outta whack.

I plan on buying a set of Bumpers from CertiFit and shaving off the ugly bumper guards. Unless I work a deal on some SS Bumpers. Saving my Originals up in my garage rafters.

This is basically a cover up and pawn it off on a new car dealership build. lol. Turns out, this car was in an accident before prior to me purchasing it. I seen all sorts of over spray on the parts that broke off.Looks like maaco painted it. Taped off marks and paint over the black plastic.

So, I figured what is good for the goose is good for me to do as well. Just planning on covering up the damage and trading it in. Hopefully, they do the once over and are stuck with it. LMAO

Might be able to score me an HHR Turbo. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

If your insurance company Totalled it, it will now have a SALVAGE Title. Not gonna hide that easily. Devalues any car once thay are considered Salvage. Scares most people AWAY.

Me included.

I'll agree with you on the cupholder thing. I had a large Baja Blast from Taco Bell in my forward holder when I sat in the car, and my jacket's phone-laden pocket knocked it back, spilling half of it under the driver's seat. Sticky mess. Usually I drink unsweet tea.

I kinda like the retro-cool lines, so bringing forward more styling cues from the old Suburban would get a thumbs-up from me. Also, while it'd be kinda sad to be stuck with a salvage title... it'd remove much of the guilt I'd have for customizing! My 2LT won't get much of it, barring any accidents, as I'd like to keep it stock into the foreseeable future.
