So, I figured what is good for the goose is good for me to do as well. Just planning on covering up the damage and trading it in. Hopefully, they do the once over and are stuck with it. LMAO

Might be able to score me an HHR Turbo. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
OK, some things you just don't say with a lawyer in the room, so hopefully you're kidding or blowing off steam instead of actually contemplating the perpetration of a fraud.

Just as an FYI in regards to "Salvage" vehicles in Maryland....

"When an individual elects to keep their damaged vehicle and if the insurance company permits the owner of a damaged vehicle to keep the vehicle, the insurance company must notify the MVA unless the damage to the vehicle is 75% or less of the fair market value (see note below). The following documents are required:

Proof of Ownership - The vehicle's certificate of title must be submitted.

Lien Release - A lien release is required only when the certificate of title indicates that a lien exists.

Maryland Safety Inspection - The customer has to have the vehicle inspected within 90 days of receiving a notice from MVA or the registration will be suspended.

When the damage is greater than 75% of the vehicle's fair market value and repairable or has sustained flood damage, the new Maryland title will be branded "rebuilt salvage" or "flood damage" respectively. The vehicle must pass a Maryland State Safety Inspection within 90 days of receiving notice from the MVA or the registration will be suspended. The customer may return their registration plates to avoid the suspension being placed against the vehicle."

If you do decide to dispose of your HHR by trading it in at a dealership, disclose in full the damage that occurred, and let them know it is on a Salvage title. Failure to do so would leave you open to litigation from the dealer as well as being liable for any damages or injuries incurred by the subsequent users of the vehicle. Whether or not the vehicle was in an accident before your purchase of it, does not mean you have the "right" to pull one over on a dealer.

More of a blowing off steam thing. The air bag is gone so, you would be a fool not to think it is a perfect vehicle. The salvaged title thing has been avoided thanks to changing it over to a wyoming title. My insurance company wanted to salvage it with the maryland title but, I told them I was staying in wyoming. They said, ok. You do not need to salvage it there.

Anyway, I plan on driving this puppy till it dies. Engine runs great still, drove perfectly straight, back home from the accident and everything under the hood is repaired or realigned.

I will have the unibody frame checked out once I can take it into town. I can see for myself that the passenger side is pushed in and the drivers side is pushed outwards.

I hope that this is just the front structure and does not continue into the engine compartment area. Seems like the passenger side damage stops prior to the engine mount. Roughly about 8" prior to the mount.

If it does need pulled out. I will have it pulled. I can't pull it out anymore here because the car keeps moving. My come along pulls the car instead of the frame. We tried chalking the wheels and it pops over the bricks.

My friend said to chain the back to a tree, then pull the front but, I think that would end up messing the back up.

So, once the radiator is in. It is going down to the auto body shop in town. Hopefully it does not cost a fortune to pull it out.

***FENDER and Headlight ordered as well***

OK man, just hoping that you were blowing off steam, didn't mean to go "all legal" on you. Usually I don't say much about anything relating to the law here unless asked, and then my responses are limited due to restrictions placed an all attorneys outside of a "lawyer/client" relationship. But as an Officer of The Court, I am obliged to say something when someone mentions an activity or action that slides into the realm of the extralegal.

You have a good eye for design and some really cool ideas on mods, so keep on keeping on as they say.

Thanks, brother. If everything goes like it should. Hoping to get some nice custom parts built for this build. Which, I will post the parts here for others to see.

I would love to find a good metal guy here in town and have the fenders made from steel. I am not a big fan of fiberglass. Just would be cool to have the old style round headlights in solid steel fenders.

I have found a solid hood with no intake on the front, basically the same as what I drew up but, it is fiberglass. So, I am hoping I can use the hood I have and just weld some steel over it to make a solid steel hood with no grille.

Hood described above at http://www.cruisermotorsports.com

Not a fan of that badge in the center! Going with the Flying V or a new chevy logo centered!

Today, I remelted all the broken plastic back together and reinforced it with mesh that was left over from the grille. Yes, I am ghetto!

Simply used plastic from broken parts I could not find. Melted the plastic using a soldering gun.

Here is some pictures for you...

More to come...

Slap on some "Sponsor" decals, and tell people you had a bad day at the short track, it does have that look to it now.

Kinda what tomorrow is going to bring. Going to chop my new bumper cover in half and start the grille insert. Then comes closing up the hood with steel. Lots of work but, also lots of fun.

Buah ha ha!!! If stuff does not line up tomorrow. I might have to get some vinyl stickers made up and say Gordan, put me in the wall! Wait, that is like getting beat up by a 5 year old. LOL
