Heated Mirrors
The heated part of heated, signal mirrors.
We had a cold day in Northwest Louisiana today. I used the heated mirrors for the first time, and they worked as expected. There is a large round coil under each mirror, and a correspondingly large, circular area of each mirror was cleared. The control lit when I turned it on, and flashed to tell me it was time to turn it off. Everything works great except for a minor noise in the driver's door panel that wasn't present before the installation. So, now is anyone else going to do this, too?
yes yes
Thank you so much for all the work you put in on this and your willingnes to share it I,m definitly doing it where on the list I put it is the question but since I,m going to Edmonton Alberta for Christmas over two mountian ranges might have to move it in front of pedders, dual twin tips and angle eye hid w/switchback blinker. thanks for the help

Has anyone else installed these? The heated signal mirrors are working perfectly. Other than it being expensive for what it is, it was worth it. It looks like it came from the factory this way, though GM never offered heated or signal mirrors, and the "spotter" mirror was only an option on later HHRs.
Personally, I just don't see the need for them.
A luxury option if it was offered OEM at best. A blinking arrow in my side mirror would distract me and drive me nuts. I'd be lookin for a way to Disconnect them.
The normal blinking dash arrow is plenty reminder for me.
Even in Chicago Winters, I never wished for heated mirrors on a car I owned that did not have them.
Had cars with them before, just not a high priority option, frankly, not even a low on the list one.
And I'm known for modding my cars the way I like without worrying about the money to do so. I have spent plenty on my Panel after buying it, so another $400.00 or so wouldn't be out of the question, but heated mirrors just arent a deal breaker for me I guess. Maybe it it were $100.00 i'd think about it, Just the Heated part NOT the arrow blinking.
Takes about 2 seconds to scrape a side mirror with a 6 inch wide ice scrapper as I am wiping the snow off the whole car before driving off, now find me a Whole Exterior car heater so I never have to wipe the whole car off, then you got somthing useful.
I actually have one, a Heated Garage, but because I turned it into a woodworking shop I can't pull my car into it! I'll be selling off some of those tools in the Spring so next year it WILL get parked INSIDE my Garage.
Once maybe twice a year the mirrors get covered in ICE but thats even pretty easy to just scrape off them.
Everyone has a Different set of Option Priorities, this one would be pretty far down on my list, if it ever made it on it all all, currently, it's not even on my list.
I'd rather use that $400.00 towards HPTuners once I do my supercharger install.

Me personally, I would love to have heated mirrors. Why? I live in a very humid location and the mirrors get fogged up all the time. Doesn't matter if you wipe them off;they will fog back up again.
I have heated mirrors in my Dodge truck. I use the heat mode all the time to clear the dew/fog off of them. I wish it had been offered on the HHR because I would have gotten it.
