I do see Corvair and Corvette foreshadowed in this design, as well as a little Bug-eyed Sprite.
Speaking of great one off creations, here is the Thunder Flite custom built by Dean Arnold... I so admire this man's work!

Very nice!

I see he reworked the "double bubble" top idea from the Lincoln Futura AKA the Batmobile.

I wonder how many folks know that the Batmobile is a recycled 1955 concept car?

When I was a kid I always thought the batmobile was an old Pontiac Catalina. The split grill and ram air hood gave me that impression... Still kind of does, but it is definitely the Futura concept.

Mike

I just realized the rear doors on the Biscayne were suicide doors........

[QUOTE=843de;720059]Show cars, concept cars, and styling prototypes are crushed to keep them from being sold off. They are usually devoid of serial numbers, VIN's, and safety equipment that would make them legal for street use.

Thankfully George Barris had friends at Lincoln Division of Ford Motor Company back then

He did some really cool work the movies and TV. Some of it was modest paint changes like the General Lee and the Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino, but others like the Batmobile and Monkee Mobile were pretty extensive customs.

Here is a pretty crappy night shot of the tail lights I put on my ride. I wanted to show how cool the LED's look lit up but the shot is pretty washed out with light. I will have to try again to get a better shot. Maybe if I try at dusk they will turn out better. Of course any advice would be appreciated as I am definitely not a photographer.

I'm intrigued Ben, very intrigued.

Try again just before dusk, that way the ambient light will help balance the exposure without the LED's overwhelming things.

Is your camera auto exposure only, or can you tinker with exposure times and F-Stops?

I'd start with an F2.8 and a 1/15th second exposure if your camera allows full manual mode.

Mike, my camera is exactly the same kind that many professional photographers use......

... To talk to their friends and family. LOL

So there is nothing I can do to adjust the shutter speed. I will definitely be trying different times as the sun goes down to see if I can't get a picture that turns out.

Thanks Mike

Another cool Buick for you Ben, if I wasn't watching Andy and Barney maintaining the peace in Mayberry as a kid, I was watching Broderick Crawford chasing the bad guys in his CHP spec 1955 Century 2-Door sedan on "Highway Patrol".

That 320 cube V-8 and lighter 2-Door post body helped "Chief Dan Mathews" get down the road at 116 mph, after zooming to 60 mph in a blazing 9 seconds(we are talking 1955 here).
