Yeah Mike, I Googled the Fireball V8 images. Wasn't real crazy about the lettering style they used on them. Thought that lettering with more movement felt more appropriate. If I were restoring an old Buick, then I would definitely use the original style. Since I am shooting for a modern Homage to the old Super, I feel that coming up with something different is the route I want to take :)

Thanks! There were a lot of letters that were cool back then too. The old C__h__e__v__r__o__l__e__t_ script was probably the most iconic, but there were a lot of others that had similar fast moving style like the ones I came up with too.

Got the rear spoiler and sides shaped today. Skim coated them and made em ugly once more. But it is definitely easier to tell where I'm going with them now :)

You're getting it dialed in Ben, blacking out the B and C pillars will really pull the look together and give it a nice Sedanet style roofline.

Thanks hhryoungin
Thanks 843de

Mike did you mean the b and c pillars or the c and d pillars? The c and d pillars are what I intend to black out.

Yes Mike, I can completely relate. Midway through earning my bachelors degree I found myself suddenly single and raising 4 kids solo. So I ended up working full time, going to school full time, doing my homework & helping the kids with theirs, and sleeping....well when I could.... lol I am glad that's behind me now!

I just wanted to clarify c and d versus b and c pillars. B and c pillars is what is blacked out on a lot of cars so I didn't know for certain if that was what you were thinking I should black out. We're on the same page now :)

Stuck in traffic this morning I had an idea if you ever decide to drop down to 15" rims and higher profile tires for even more of a retro feel.

How about a set of repro '49-'50 Buick wheel covers, they'd work on 15" rims.

Your thoughts Ben?
