HHR Teazer High Profile Hood Scoop (Cowl Hood Scoop)

I think there is a long line for that spare Visor I have. If I ever did sell it, I'd have to have a Lottery for it.
Why do you want another Hood?
Thanks, on the very cool part.
Maybe YOU can't "justify" it. But I Can.
You may have picked up a fiberglass cowl hood for your S-10 for $300.00.
It was Available to buy it, so are old Nova and Camaro Hoods and 100's of other cars Hoods.
The big thing here is, you CAN"T buy another HHR Hood other than the OEM, or a China made OEM, Period.
So saying you paid $300.00 including paint work for a Totally Different car is a mute point really.
And as for buying another hood scoop, well None of them available are like This HHR Cowl Hood Scoop, Custom Made for the HHR.
Sure, I could have bought a generic hood scoop and slapped it on, but that's NOT what I wanted at all.
You Want Custom, you gotta Pay for it, that's all there is to it. And I Want Custom and am willing to pay for it.
Install will only cost me the paint, reducers/thinners and the clear coat. Most of it I already have out in my garage, I was a full time body and fender man/auto painter for about 12 years before I switched Trades, so labor cost is, my time.
And as far as "a true cowl hood" this one I will be installing can be made into a fully functional cowl hood if I choose to install it that way.
I have mentioned that before as well.

Well first off let me start off by saying that I believe I must not have stated my point well since you seemed to completely analyze my post...
Okay, that being said my S-10 cowl hood was not a chinese knockoff fiberglass unit...I've only dealt in Goodmark steel hoods on everything that I've customized or built

The point I was trying to make is that its sad that we have to resort to a full-on customized hood just to obtain the cowl look when just about every other vehicle on the market has an aftermarket hood available. I used my $300 S-10 hood as just an example...and yes it was functional without doing any custom work.
If we didn't have different views towards customs we'd all have the same things done and it wouldn't be much of a custom. I love when people criticize my ideas or don't like what I've done or what I'm doing my ride...that just means that there's one less like mine!

Keep doing your thing man...its a great looking ride and I can tell you love it and that's what matters. I love mine!
BTW, it's moot point, not mute point

In a visor ? The hood I am planning on, just ordered brembos, so will have to wait for the mod money pool to fill again, If I don't find a visor, I like this hood. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...induction+hood.
Now with a visor I like yours better, where do I look for one of them visors ?
or would you have to kill me if I knew how you did it (twice)

The point I was making was on how you bought a cowl hood for $300.00, IF an HHR one was Availble in Steel OR Fiberglass and had this style cowl look, hell yeah I would have bought it, but the fact is, you can't.
And since the HHR is no longer even being made, I bet there won't ever be one available for it.
So you gotta go Custom. It took me a few months of emails and phone calls to even get this one made at all.
Sometimes when you Want something that's Rare, you gotta pay a little extra to get it, and like you, I want My HHR to be Different than anyone else's.
It's definately true, I Love my Panel, and if theres a Mod I want on it, cost (within reason) has no bearing, I save for it and do it.
In a way, I don't think it's sad at all, otherwise you'd see 300.00 HHR hoods with a scoop on far to many HHR's all looking the same and I'd have to look for something else that isnt seen every day, on every other HHR.
moot mute, either way, you got the point.
It's also nice to have a second piece to work on , as to not rush it , As rushing the final outcome will offten cause a set back.
It's gonna look great brother ,
And your scareing me with that super charger stuff .

He did a great job on that scoop for sure, I have seen that one reposted many times as hood scoop threads have popped up here.
For my taste and style I like the more rounded lines and curvature of the scoop I bought, follows the HHR's hood shape better.
That one is just a little too boxy lookin for the look I am after. It's a Great install, looks great on his HHR in Red, just wasn't the look I am after on Morticia.
Took me almost 2 years to get the first visor, and only got it after the red wolf HHR was sold (I Tried to buy it while the car was up for sale here) then the new owner totalled it out a week or two later, so I went after trying to get it. And I bought it.
Before that, I had contacted every visor owner I could find and get their contact info and emailed or called them offering to buy their visor. If they sold it or the HHR, I tried getting the new owners contact info, I just kept at it quietly here until I got one.
After getting the one off the red wolf, I got a reply by email, they got my email 6 or so months prior and said that he had his windshield replaced and never put his visor back on after that, it was sitting in his garage if I wanted it I could buy it. I bought it.
That reply came a week after I had already bought the red one, but after it taking so long to find just the one, I could not pass up buying the Spare one.
Persistance is what paid off in getting them.
If I get another email reply from someone with one, or see another one for sale, I'll try buying it as well.
It's also nice to have a second piece to work on , as to not rush it , As rushing the final outcome will offten cause a set back.

I got this Chevy Malibu all fixed up in prep for stuff just like this, and it will be my full on Winter Driver, Morticia will now sleep in a fully Heated Garage all winter.

Originally I bought my Panel as my daily driver, but as things have progressed on her, I just drive her for pleasure and I drove her as little as possible in Winter, and tried to only drive when the streets were Dry. That Salt used on the roads SUCKS.
No more Salt on her while I own her.
So I have no real rush to get it done over a weekend I am home here 7 days a week and can work on it at my leisure until it is done to Perfection. (Gotta be PERFECT with Black.) So you can't rush it anyways.
The hood will be removed and set on body shop stands in my garage and I will work on it in the AC, way too hot and humid to do it with the garage door open and only a fan blowing on my like I did the soundproofing last Summer. Damn that was HOT sitting in a Black car in the driveway in full sun.

But it was worth it.
"your scareing me with that super charger stuff " Whats scarin you about it, the Tuner glitch or me actually ready to do it?
I am saving up for a few other internal engine mods that will eventualy go along with the Supercharger.
