Thumbs up

Just a side note about this little project, mine STAYED put during my crash.
Not that anyone needs to go find out if it does or not, but for those of you that wonder will it stay put? Mine sure the hell stayed and I used nothing more than the clips that can with it.

Just did this mod and it works great!!!

Hi, New to this forum. Just got my car back from the dealer after they installed a new A/C condenser. It was trashed by road debris. The damage area was smaller than a dime, but it was near the end seam ,pretty well hidden and the dealer did not notice. So they replaced under warranty as defective part. I am very lucky as I have read other members have paid a wad of cash to get replaced. The other forum I have posted on had no threads on this issue so a lower grill was not on my mind. Anyway, I follwed the directions and this grill works great. Has anyone had any issues with anything breaching this screen or rusting etc? Thanks.

Painted mine Black (bbq pit paint ) no rust yet, but only a couple months. Took a road trip, no breaches, caught a lot of bugs though.
The mesh is really cheap, so if it rusts, do over...

I took a pretty hard hit by a metal sign kicked up by the car in fromt of me, and my grill stayed in place very well. While it was not directly hit, the force was enough to knock my fog light back into the bumper. Here is a pic.

I did buy bolts to help hold it in place, and as CJ described, bent the bottom under the opening. I honestly believe this is the best mod you can do, especially for the money. I have less than $5 invested.

As far as rust goes, it is galvanized, so I don't believe it will rust, though I may be wrong on that.

Welcome SnoopHHR!
I have captured big colorful bugs in mine!
One of our members has posted a pic of what their lower grill captured. Someone will chime in here soon with more details!

My lower grill has already stopped a sheet of paper that would have been stuck to the condensor, and it's only been on for 6 weeks.
