When the wife is happy, you are happy, doesn't matter if its brake drums or a new pair of shoes.

Painting calipers and drums

What type of paint should I use to paint the calipers and drums. Is high temp paint recommended.

i just use black rustoleum in the spring time.
heat doesn't appear to be an issue, but north iowa winters sure are!

I agree with bowtie the drums really do not get too hot for most drivers
But I would recommend engine enamel paint found at most auto parts stores usually good for 500 degrees.
When I worked at the speed shop which had a paint shop for customers that needed me to mix up custom paint colors for their engine I would mix up either enamel or sometimes urethane.
Then load it into spray cans for them to use on their engines.and that held up well.

Thank You bigjacksauto, do calipers get hotter than the rear drums? The verdict is still out to either match the body paint or the color of the pin stripe I'm going to have done.

Yes the calipers do get hotter, but also a good idea to check rear brake adjustment.. The self adjusters don't really work well..

I used Eastwood's Ceramic Engine Paint, good to 650* & brush it on, it flows out better than sprayed, & looks like Glass..
