Alright not sure how bright you are trying to get but I believe it's the cover that dims it down.

I grabbed a set of LED bulbs with 20 smd LED on each and it looks like my old tC with just 5 smd LED per bulb. Still looks pretty at night though. I can email you a picture if you want.
