I kinda thought the same thing...only time I've ever heard of someone wetsanding is in b/w painting and clear in the final stages of a project. Even then, it's a very delicate process.

I did it to my truck.. If you take your time it gets rid of any of the stock "orange peel" in the paint. You use 1500 to 2000 grit sandpaper and lots of water.. It really does wonders to the finish, then you have to use some polish and either elbow grease or a wheel and it brings back the shine

Agreed, paint doesn't have to be new.. Just need to know what you're doing.. It's awesome to see a perfect reflection with NO orange peel..

Yea my truck was a 1998 chevy 1 ton dually with 145000 miles on it.. I wet sanded the entire truck.. It got rid of the small scratches and got rid of all the orange peel.. It looked better then new..
