06 Chevy HHR wont start, electrical issue???

Okay, so I am at a loss. About 4 weeks ago I was driving my car and all of a sudden on the DIC it came across saying, Check Charge System, Power Steering, and Battery Saver On. Then the abs, check engine and battery light came on and the power steering locked up and it died out. It wouldnt start again until it was jumped. I took it to Chevy and they replaced the battery and fixed the recalls on it and it has been driving fine until last night. Exact same issue happend and now it wont start. When I went to jump it all the same lights came back on and the interior locks kept locking and unlocking, lights flickered and it died out. What could be causing this???? Ive had the car for 3 years and this is the first issue Ive had with it..

Welcome to the site.

Your description sounds exactly like a low voltage issue. A bad connection or loose ground is the most likely cause. Check the grounds(there are numerous ones) and check the main battery terminal hookup post at the underhood fuse box.

Just curious. What procedure do you use to try to jumpstart it ? The HHR has a very specific procedure to do a jumpstart. It is outlined in the owners manual. If you don't have a manual, we've got them free for download on this site.

Just use this link to download a manual: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...s-manual-3074/

Especially the large red connection to the fuse box. Also possibly the 2 halves of the fuse box have loosened up.

I would think your Chevy dealer would have checked your charging system, but your new battery could be dead now too.
