Exclamation 07 Starts then stalls

I have the strangest issue. Bought the car about 3 months ago for my son. It's manual, which he now loves, but recently we have run into, I think, an electrical issues. The car starts then stalls, but if you turn off the auto lights it stays running and if it's running and hit the turn signal it dies and the engine light comes on. I'm thinking clock spring if it has one. Codes are as follow P1682, 0171,0230, 0833. Not sure what manufacture control means, I'm thinking the computer. I tried a new battery, started looking at the fuse/relay box under the hood but haven't dug into much. Any insight would be great. I'm very mechanically inclined but man this one has gone way over my head. And now my son is driving my Jeep

Welcome to the site, there is a clock spring under the steering wheel

As these point out, different things cause the codes, look at the simple common denominator, loose connections, possibly a ground wire , the obvious MAF sensor is not connected properly
In the P1682 thread the cam solenoids were switched, it can happen, if your HHR is a 2.4 litre

Has the ignition recall been done? https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gm-r...tlement-63437/
Either the ignition switch, the clockspring, the run/crank relay or the powertrain relay is faulty.

Yes, thought that was the issue and the recall was never done so we brought it in and had that done

And.... Was that before or after the issues you listed?

So there still could be other problems to investigate or a faulty ignition switch was installed, highly unlikely but plausible.

I'm thinking electrical, like a lose ground came off. I do have a question about the fuse/relay box under the hood. Is there supposed to be a ground wire coming off the top left? I see the positive wire on the bottom left that goes to the starter.
