When I shift form park, drive, reverse, wherever my damn handle makes this plastic grinding noise, I've cleaned it the best i can but it sounds like the piece that slides with the handle is off track or something. Any Ideas or recommendations on how I can disassemble this thing so my 08 doesn't sound like my old 88 when I shift.

 

You are exactly right. I recently took apart my console around the shifter to clean... When I put it back together it was off track and made the noise you are describing...

 

Ok, so can it be fixed? Because it does it sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.
