I'm playing with my new OD5 installation and snipping tool.

Ground seems to be the common thread in the non-working stuff.

 

08 hhr ls sorry. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. So I have taken the dash panel apart and cleaned the grounds that are on the side. And still doesn't work. I don't recall hitting a bump. At first it was flickering then about 10 days later it was all the way out. Thanks guys

 

Flickering kind of says : loose or corroded connection.

The only common link seems to be the ground wire, but could be a short in one of the components that does not work (maybe the clockspring). 2006/2008 should not make much difference in wiring; some wire color and pin positions changed that's about all.

 

Do you think that the climate control unit could have a short?

 

Could be anywhere.

Has the car been in any shop lately, like an alignment?

Anybody added an LED light?

 

I just bought the car 3 weeks ago but it has brand new tires rear shocks and lower control arms.

 

If the flickering was happening then, I would investigate warranties, express and implied.
