I bought this car back in February. And it appears it has a security system installed based upon the flashing light above the rear view mirror. I took my key to get a copy made. I inquired if they could tell if the key would have had a compatible key fob. She said she would be able to tell. After running the key through her system...she said there was no key fob. I am hoping someone with more knowledge of the HHR could tell me more about the security system and if there is some type of remote.

 

There was a fob, if you have remote start RPO code AP3 on that sticker in the glove box
it will have 4 buttons





Or just 3 buttons without the remote start

 

If you have a flashing security light above the rear view mirror, that's an add-on aftermarket.
The factory HHR security light appears in the dash instrument panel. Details are in the Owners Manual.
