Is the dashboard light sensor dirty ? The one in the top/middle of the dash.

Sounds like your running lights are staying on. Assuming bumper/side reflector lights are burnt out.

Could be the blinker/headlight switch on the steering wheel, but it looks like you already changed that.

Otherwise, I don’t know what would fail to have two circuits stay on? Both rear tail lights as if applying the brakes??? and front blinkers not blinking but on full brightness???

Actually, donbrew is right, a short to the hazard switch could do that assuming the switch controls the lights and not the BCM. This would also explain why the side marker lights are not on.

As with everything on the HHR the switch is a sensor that signals the BCM to energize a circuit. If they were stuck flashing the hazard switch controls only the turn signals, if they were not flashing the markers would also be on. I am so confused.

2008 Chevy HHR 2.2L LS 4 Door Electrical ignition switch removal

Hi, I have a 2008 Chevy HHR and the lights are flickering the taillights are staying on. It was recommended to change this part that labeled in red which is an electric ignition switch. How do I remove it? I removed the screws and tried to pry it out carefully. I can't get it to come out. This is a google picture I have not removed this part from my vehicle it is still intact.

Has the ignition switch recall been done on your HHR.

Stop by a GM dealership to have your VIN checked

Or check for yourself: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gm-r...-status-50716/

Who recommended this action? I don't see a connection.

I think the trick is to turn the key to "run". if you insist on it.
