I got a load of bad gas a few months ago...it didn't cause any stalling problem but the boost was 'way off and it ran like a weak Ford Pinto. A fresh tank of 92 octane with some GM Fuel System Conditioner got it singing properly again.

Hi all,
I have an 09 with 14K miles that started having a random off feature. It would just die and sometime would take a while to restart. I know some folks at GM and got the engineers there involved because the local dealer couldn't figure it out. They ended up replacing the High Pressure fuel pump. All was well for about a month. And today was the 2nd time since that it has either not started or died after running for about 5 mins. When it wouldn't start, I was ready to get it towed and tried again and it fired up (about 15mins from first attempt). Today I filled it up and pulled across the street to a drive-thru and it died. Wouldn't restart for about 5 mins. Then fired up and fine...Will have at dealer next week. BTW, No CEL. Hopefully they can figure it out...

My 2006 owners manual doesn't list a fuel pump relay but it lists 2 fuses, 13 and 19 for the fuel pump. Relay 51 is listed as a run, crank and might power the fuel pump.
I would find a wiring diagram to locate the wire to the fuel pump and connect a small light to it that can be seen inside the vehicle to tell if it loses power or install a fuel pressure gauge to eliminate fuel as a problem.

Damronjr it sounds like a bad fuel pump. I had a 2000 Chevy Silverado that would do that to me, when it got low on fuel (below 1/4) it would lurch and jerk because it wasn't sucking ALL the way down in the tank. replaced, worked fine.

that is exactly what it seems like to me as well. Maybe try a new fuel cap?
Sounds like an old fashioned type problem like vapor lock or you have equal pressure in the tank & fuel system and can start to drive but when the fuel is being pulled from the tank it isn't pulling in "air" to keep the flow of fuel coming from the tank and creating enough of a vacuum void in the tank to stop the flow of fuel until you turn the fuel pump off thus equalizing the pressure for the next start... & then happen all over again. Just a thought.
