2009 Service ESC message and scan tool question

I'm having an issue with my 2009 giving me the SERVICE ESC message and ABS light but throwing no CEL and no codes... at least none that my old ELM327 and ScanTool.net software can see.

I've been thinking about getting a new scan tool anyways, I like the idea of a bluetooth one with an android app so I don't have to haul a laptop around.
Are there any suggested scan tools and software that can tell me more about what's triggering my current ESC message?

I have already checked my tire pressure, brake fluid level, checked the connectors, and disconnected the battery. After a ECM reset the ESC message and ABS light immediately returns without ever moving the car (might not be relevant). I think I'm at around 110k miles.

I did replace the right front wheel bearing/hub assembly this summer. This error didn't appear until colder weather, now November. I need to find some way to gather more data on what the cause it.

Suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Double check the wiring connections at the wheel hubs, make sure they are clean and dry.

Most readers just scan the basic codes. You need a higher end($) reader to be able to see all codes like ABS related ones.

I think I'll try the 'Blue Driver' scan tool and software. It claims to be able to read stuff from other modules like ABS, Transmission, etc. on domestic cars. I wanted a new scan tool anyhow so now seems like a good time. I'll report back.

And why does it say I'm a new member? I've been here over 8 years. If it's based on number of posts then that doesn't seem very logical. Oh well.

Because you have only posted 24 times.

High end OBD2 scanners that are labelled "ABS" can read ABS codes if the light is on. Some can even read airbag codes.
