My nephew picked up a 2010 LS 2.2 auto 93K over the weekend. Didn't notice anything odd on the hour or so drive back home. I'm guessing at some point yesterday he noticed the engine surging. RPM's just rising and dropping at times. No power when it happens. No CEL and I've told them to get it read any incase of stored codes.

Haven't heard back from him or my brother, but any ideas?

Bought in SC and had some sort of TX carpool decal on the windshield. I'm hoping he didn't pick up some flood victim.

 

When idling or when driving? I.E.: Motor or trans?
Dirty TB?

 

My brother called me on it asking if I had any idea. The TB is a good place to start. While driving as they stated no power then it was happening, but stated it was intermittingly.

 

 

Still waiting to see if they had any codes.

 

 

Odds are, they asked me and won't pass on anything more.....lol They believe it's the transmission, but didn't get codes read......

 

Trans codes will not show up, just P0700 until the CEL comes on then you need to look at the freeze frame data.
