ABS Monitor has died

Hi,
I am new to the forum but have had 2 HHRs. Totaled the first one. The one I have now is a 2008 with 91,000 miles. Since soon after buying this one I have had problems with the tire pressure sensors. Now I am told it will be $385 to replace the 2 that are bad. I also had the traction controllight come on. The dealership hooked upthe computer for $65 to find out the ABS moniter is bad. It can be replaced for $1300. I love my HHR, but really. I hadn't had it 6 months and the air conditioner died on the way home from Florida! Several things were fixed under warranty, now I have to pay for bad parts. Really!!
Any one else had the ABS issues?

Shop around for TPMS sensors, that sounds "Stealership pricing". I have no idea what an ABS monitor might be, maybe hubs. Once again shop around, but first get a written estimate for your $65 which would include a parts list and labor. You paid for the diagnostic it should include a detailed repair estimate which you could use to get other bids on the work.

One reason that I'm no fan of the tire pressure monitors or anti lock brakes. When they break, they become an expensive gizmo to get fixed at the dealer. You may find a tire store to repair the TPs cheaper. I have not had any issues with anti lock brakes in past cars. MY 06 came in with no anti lock brakes, traction control or TP sensors.

Hate to say it...but use walmart for the sensors 45$ a tire....hard to screw up. Go to AutoZone and get another code reading....

There was some good responses telling you to try Walmart, etc for a second and cheaper opinion.
Then you say you called GM. Sounds like you're a "dealer only" kind of customer. Well, be prepared for those dealer 2x-3x's the prices.
