Abs and traction control light
So this all this to say that the abs and TCS lights may be coming on occasionally due to my timing belt wearing out and causing debris in the vvt solenoid? Or did I miss something?
Next question is how difficult us it to replace the belt (my research is that the 2010 2.4l has a belt and not chain) and how long of a fix is it i.e. 1 hour 2 hour all day?

Jaksback,
I'm not sure where you are doing your research but, ALL Ecotech engines have timing chains.
As for the amount of time to change,
how good of a mechanic are you?
Mine took 2 days but I'm 67 and was in no hurry to get it done.

next stupid question how difficult/involved is changing a vvt solenoid?
is this video a good/accurate video for doing my vvt replacement?
I did my search on chain or belt but I guess since I have a metal cover it's a chain according to what info it gives
GoOgle lies! Ecotec engines have timing CHAINS.
True the timing and VVT have nothing to do with ABS and traction. But, if either malfunctions the computer turns ABS and traction OFF resulting in the warning lights.

On the video i showed above they said the intake vvt solenoid was a 10mm ans the exhaust was an 8mm. It doesn't matter either way, the intake vvt solenoid is on the forward side and exhaust vvt solenoid is closest to the back firewall...does this sound correct?
