Alignment
Alignment
Had to have some electronics replaced in the transmission of our '08 which required removing the trans. Since the dealer did the job, we have a noticeable pull to the left at highway speeds.
Before I go discuss this with the dealer, can anyone tell me if a wheel alignment is required after pulling the engine cradle? I know there are pins or something that they are supposed to insert before tightening the cradle bolts, but aren't they just meant to get it close to make the alignment easier? It been many years since I went to auto tech school, and I haven't worked as a pro for 15 years, but I'm sure that was what I was taught. But then, front wheel drive cars were just coming on strong back then and maybe things have changed.
I just know that I used to love how the car drove and now its annoying as heck having to fight the steering wheel.
Thanks

When the cradle is dropped, the only thing that needs to be adjusted is the toe in. Caster and camber affect pulling and it won't be changed by a cradle removal. But if the cradle is installed straight, then the steering will be c@cked in the wrong direction, which means it would steer to the left.
I would take it back and they should be able to align the cradle to its proper position and all will be well again.
